Nadia Elena Comaneci
The year was 1976 and she became famous when she scored the only ever perfect 10 on an asymmetrical bar during the Montreal Olympic Games. Furthermore, she also scored six perfect 10s and made her 14 years age the youngest Olympic medallist in every category. The dazzling Nadia Comaneci did more than draw interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. With a score that was unattainable and a sporting legend, she brought gymnastics into the spotlight of the world's interest. The sport also altered the perception of female gymnasts. Her impact on the Olympics was so great that her two routines such as the toe-on movement and the release movement, are named in her honor.
